The shipping industry and the transportation of goods be that of any type, is a complex network weaving together the involvement of multiple resources in a variety of combinations to produce a single result, the safe collection, movement, and delivery of materials in accordance with all regulations and company specifications to serve the client, customer, and consumer. This process includes so many different factions it’s often easy to get lost in the shuffle which prompted the need to create one unified guideline of standards to adhere to and follow. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has been an important body of members with a collective mission of safety in mind for over 100 years. Consisting of at least 250 airlines, it makes up approximately 84% of all air traffic. We at Air Sea Containers make it a point to go above and beyond those regulations set forth by the IATA. We are in full support of the IATA and are proud to call ourselves members of an organization so centered on the continued safety of the aircraft and any persons involved in the transportation of potentially dangerous goods. Defining a standard and documenting the proper training and handling of materials that require the highest degree of attention has led to a list of forbidden and restricted items deemed too dangerous to be placed on an aircraft.
