Packing Instructions 966 Checklist – applies to Lithium ion cells packed with equipment and Lithium ion batteries packed with equipment (Class 9 Miscellaneous dangerous goods - UN 3481).

- Classification (DGR 3.9.2.6) – Refer to MSDS – Material Safety Data Sheet from Manufacturer
- Meets Net quantity per package limits of 5 kg net qty per package for Passenger, 35 kg net qty for Cargo Aircraft ONL Y.
- UN Specification Packaging – Packing Group II Performance Packaging
- Class 9 Hazard Label
- Cargo Aircraft Only Label (Only packaging in excess of 5 kg)
- Shipper’s Declaration for Dangerous Goods (DGR Section 8)
- Classification (DGR 3.9.2.6) – Refer to MSDS – Material Safety Data Sheet from Manufacturer
- Lithium ion cells contained in equipment or lithium ion batteries contained in equipment do not exceed 5kg per package for passenger aircraft and/or cargo aircraft
- The equipment must be packed in Strong Outer Packaging*
- Lithium Battery Handling Label
- Documentation Contains the Following Details of the Consignment**
- the package contains lithium ion cells or batteries
- the package must be handled with care and that flammability hazard exists if the package is damaged
- special procedures must be followed in the event the package is damaged, to include inspection and repacking if necessary
- a telephone number for additional information.
