Air Sea Containers’ Commitment to IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations

Here at Air Seas Containers (ASC) we believe that safety comes first when transporting potentially hazardous items through the skies.  That is why we work very closely with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in developing our hazardous materials (HAZMAT) shipping containers.  By working closely with this fine organization, we can make sure that our products comply with the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.

We want to make certain that we share this critical knowledge with our customers, which is why we offer educational materials about IATA regulations on our Web page.  This way, not only can you purchase the appropriate HAZMAT containers, you can make sure you are abiding by these extremely important air transportation regulations.  And since IATA works very closely with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) you are essentially getting dangerous goods regulations from two top-tier agencies.

Defining Dangerous Goods

Believe it or not, items that we use every day and really give no second thought to are considered dangerous goods per IATA regulations.  These items include:

  • Lithium batteries

  • Paint

  • Printing ink

  • Nickel-metal hydride (NIMH) batteries
